First, it's autumn. I know it's still September and for me autumn somehow starts with October, but the leaves are turning red and yellow, days are shorter, nights are cooler AND if you take a thorough look at your local farmer's market you probably realize a change in fruits and vegetables that are on offer; I did: lots of apples from regional farms, pumpkins, chestnuts and oranges (not so local I know!).
Second, the internet (and especially Instagram) is full with articles about and pictures of smoothies: green smoothies, orange smoothies, red smoothies. Everyone seems to carry a smoothie these days, and we don't even own a mixer!
Third: there is also a lot of talk about matcha tea. We usually don't bother about such trends - they come and go anyways. And we probably would have let this trend pass by if we hadn't been given a bottle of green matcha tea by Mary, owner of The Liquid Health Company.
So I took it upon us and our dear kitchen to make this week about smoothies: five days, five smoothies - which means for you: five recipes!
If you have a recipe you swear upon, please let us know. We need some inspiration! :)
serves 2 people
2 organic apples
1 organic kiwi
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
40ml Pure Green 'detoxnight', i.e. matcha tea
Prepare two glasses.
Peel kiwi and quarter it, then cut apple into small chunks but do not peel it. Either put it all in your mixer, or use a stick blender to purée the fruits. Add cinnamon, matcha tea and water and mix well.
